2023 began with a journey east, to Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey and upstate New York. It was my final trip before Good Morning, America (Volume IV) went on press, in September.
In November, conscious that I was now collecting pictures for the final book, I returned to the rustbelt states of Indiana and Illinois, both of which I'd been to before but hadn't done justice. Then, after dipping briefly into Missouri and Iowa, I travelled north through Wisconsin (which I'd not visited since a 'Postcards from America' trip in 2014), finally ending up in Minnesota, my 49th state.
Once again, the pictures are shown in chronological sequence.
