Projects  » GOOD MORNING, AMERICA

Good Morning, America (Volume III) appeared in December 2020. Whether to publish (or not) was a difficult decision since I had no pictures of the Covid-19 pandemic; the first cases were confirmed in the US (and simultaneously in the UK) at the end of my trip to Arizona, New Mexico and Texas in January. It was, of course, the only visit I was able to make that year.

However, careful editing of the book to include pictures which referred metaphorically to the pandemic and the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement (following the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis in May) seemed appropriate, as if the landscapes were stage sets waiting quietly for what was to come.

A second expedition, to Colorado and Kansas, which had been was planned for March and April had to be cancelled, and Good Morning, America remained in limbo for the next two years.

The pictures are shown chronologically.
